大娃的流水账 --- Hedgehogs

1-28-10 ---02/02/2010 When( The time) I got 3 Hedgehogs for Christmas

On Christmas I got three stuffed hedgehogs. They were very soft. 2 of them were black and one of them was brown. 2 of them were small and the other one was big. I yelled:” I will name you Hedgie, Bedgie and Wedgie!”. I went to tell my mom and I shouted:” They rhyme!”

这是让老妈最感动的一篇作文。三只hedgehogs是大娃去年从圣诞老人那里得到的礼物，没想到给孩子留下了那么美好的记忆。老妈还清楚地记得圣诞节早上娃打开礼物时惊喜的样子，大声说：“Mommy, I only expected one hedgehog, guess what, I got three! ”

大娃都7岁了，上学的书包里还经常装有 stuffed animal，不知道普遍不普遍？

I went to Spring Mountian(Mountain) one day with my family. We were going skiing.

On Saturday I had a snowball fight with my brother and my dad. It was me vs. my brother and my dad. I threw the first snowball, it mist! My brother threw the next snowball, it hit my face. I was laughing and my face was cold as the rest of my body. I thought I was at the North Pole.

11-30-09 When I was on the cruise

On Friday, my friend named Bryan gave me a little stuffed animal. His name was Freddy. We were in the Taj MaHal at night before a show started. When the show started, my dad bought some jucie(juice) for me and my brother. When I got the juice, I pretended that my Freddy was drinking the juice.

看小朋友的作文很有意思。因为都不是命题作文，想写什么就写什么，从小朋友所写的内容可以看出哪些是孩子生活中印象最深的人和事。

9-23-09, 10-2-09 Ride Bikes

On Sunday I played with my friends Bryan, Kyle and Tyler. We rode are(our) bikes. But I wasn’t looking and my bike triped(tripped) over a rock. I fell on my head. Lucky for me I was wearing a helmet.

这篇好象是写了两个sessions才完成的。加了点细节，还加了一句评论：Lucky for me I was wearing a helmet.

真是佩服那些画画很传神的小朋友，大娃这方面很没有灵感。看大娃的图，所有人物都长得跟一休似的，看不出谁是谁，难怪小同学都要把名字标上。

第二张图里那个摔跤upside down的肯定是他自己了：）

大娃的流水账 --- 数钱

自去年九月上一年级以来，老妈就把大娃学文化的事情全权托付给了学校。整个一学年，大娃的家庭作业都少得要命，老妈基本不清楚小同学每天在学校鬼画符些啥。这不，学年要结束了，大娃从学校拿回来厚厚一大叠纸，说是这学年在学校写的东西。老妈一数，WOW，居然写了40多篇东西呢，每一篇都是先画一张图，然后写一段文字。蛮辛苦的！

老妈闲来无事，把小同学的“作品”一一读过来，哈哈，基本上不是流水账就是八股文，选了几篇好玩的给小同学存底。

9-9-09 Count Money

One day I counted my moneny(money). I counted 63 dollers(dollars) and 93 cents. I did this in the TV room.

[老妈注］：从写作的时间看（09年9月9日），这篇是刚进学校的时候写的。时间，地点，人物，事件都算交代清楚了：）

图中的钱怎么堆得那么高？想必大娃肯定是觉得自己非常非常地 rich！：）遇到一个抠门的老妈, 大娃攒钱还真不容易，帮父母收拾碗筷到水池子里挣5 cents，每周推一次比小人还高的垃圾桶出去挣10 cents。。。

My Healthy Self

这学期一开始，Alan的班上便做起了一个有意思的project--My Healthy Self。老妈和孩子爹都很欣赏这个project，赞叹说：这比多识几个字，多做几道算术题强多了，人生成长第一步，应该首先学会take care of 自己。

Project期间，老师先后请了10来个有关人士到班上来讲座，看看这讲座的list就可想而知老师化了多少功夫了：
Head of Food Services of School District
Nurse who works with expectant mothers and newborns
Dental Student from Temple University
School Nurse
School Counselor
Scientist who works in medicine development
County Health Educator
ACAC　staff
General Practitioner
Dancer and Dance Instructor

通过这个project，孩子们学会了阅读food labels，自己测量pulse，如何在紧张的时候relax，如何做好夏日防晒。。。等等。另外，孩子们还在教室里搭锅起灶自己cook了一次healthy food，自己制作了一次healthy snack，个个忙得不易乐呼。此外，班上还到附近的health club　“ACAC”做了一次field trip，引起了电视台的兴趣，FOX　NEWS做了电视专访。

Project的最后一天是孩子们的Healthy Self Bonanza活动。老妈受邀前去捧场。全班同学分2到3人一组在学校gym里全面展开，向前来参观的客人宣传他们学到的各种健康知识。大娃的小组主题是brain health 。自己做了个booth罗列了有关brain的七七八八，然后背地里收集了N多brain teasers写了满满两页纸，还不知道从哪里找来一个抢答机。前来参看的人都要站在抢答器前被两个小朋友brain tease一番，气氛很活跃：）。
